Hi, friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! It has been busy, but also lovely since I have been spending some dedicated time with Mila these days.
To be real, for a while it was a struggle to be working from home, working on school, being a full-time stay at home mom at the same time, and have time to myself to blog and workout. However, I feel like one day it just hit me, I shouldn’t be doing all those responsibilities and just expect parenting to somehow “fit in there”, I need to dedicate time to each responsibility, and that means being there for my daughter, playing with her, pretending, cooking for her, caring for her, and loving on her. I’d love to hear if you go through this too! But I have discovered a game-changing method that has truly helped me!
How I organize my day:
I feel SO happy these days after discovering this method. I use a Google calendar to dedicate blocks of time for EACH responsibility and alternate between responsibilities throughout the entire day. I color coordinate each block by the type of responsibility, then once I complete it, I gray it out. By the end of the day, I have a packed grayed out calendar day which makes me feel so good that I visually see so much accomplishment; making sure all my bases are covered!
How it works:
- Input the responsibilities you have to work on for first thing in the morning (everything you know at the top of your head, otherwise you’ll add them on a whim)
- Color coordinate by type of responsibility
- Yellow: Self-care/me time (i.e. breakfast, lunch, shower, get ready, etc.)
- Pink: Blog work 💖
- Blue: WORK 💻
- Purple: Motherhood/Mila time 😃
- Orange: Exercise 💪
- Red: School work 📚
3. As you continue to complete your tasks, you would click on them, and change the color to GRAY. See below for an example
By the end of the day, you have a visual representation of all you have accomplished. Not only can you look back on it in the future and think “wow remember when I used to have to work on those things” or think about how far you’ve come, but it feels good at the end of the day knowing the many responsibilities you have are being taken care of as best you can.
